Vorsprung durch Technik is the claim to which the Audi brand is committed. Not only where sportiness is concerned, but in terms of future-oriented mobility as well. Audi consistently implements various efficiency measures in an overall concept. As a developer of numerous innovations, Audi has had a long-lasting effect on the automotive industry.

Aluminium hybrid construction
Compared to other cars of its class, the Audi S7 Sportback is not just built with steel, it features an aluminium hybrid design. This is a lightweight technology that until now has been applied predominantly to sports car manufacture, with reduced consumption that delivers greater agility and thus increased efficiency.

TFSI® engine
The Audi S7 Sportback has a 4.0 litre V8 TFSITFSIAudi var verdens første produsent som kombinerte direkte bensininnsprøytning med turbolading i masseproduserte biler. 2.0 TFSI startet sin suksesshistorie sommeren 2004 med debuten i Audi A3 Sportback.TFSI engine that features the new innovative Audi cylinder on demand. It ensures that during partial load operation, only four of eight cylinders are used – without you noticing the difference. The engine always runs smoothly and powerfully, however it uses less fuel and emits less CO2.

Recuperation
The recuperation system uses coasting and braking phases to convert kinetic energy into electrical energy. When the vehicle accelerates again, the battery feeds the stored energy back into the vehicle network, taking the pressure off the alternator and thus saving fuel.

Start-stop system
The start-stop system helps to reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by switching off the engine in stationary phases, e.g. at traffic lights. The start process is initiated as soon as the foot brake is released for optimum moving off. May be deactivated using a switch at any time.

LED technology
LED lights are used at many points in the Audi S7 Sportback – the standard LED headlights are particularly striking, together with the LED daytime running lights and the LED rear lights. LEDs last as long as the vehicle service life and use up to 50% less energy than standard light bulbs.
